Deborah Wilcox Article Explores Costly Issue of Coupon Fraud

Partner Deborah authored an article that appeared in the Sept. 1, 2015, issue of the INTA Bulletin, published by the International Trademark Association. The article, “Combating Coupon Fraud with Trademarks” addresses the issues of coupon fraud, fake coupons and electronic coupons that contain malware. Wilcox offers several steps a brand owner can take to protect its reputation in the coupon market, including working with the Coupon Information Corporation, takedown notices, litigation, working with the Federal Trade Commission and U.S. Postal Inspection Service and educating consumers.
