Partner Greg Mersol authored an article published Aug. 19, 2019, by the Daily Journal, a California legal publication. The article “Are Time Studies Still Useful in California Wage and Hour Litigation?” discusses how two recent wage-and-hour cases have resulted in the demise of the de minimis doctrine in California for computing wages for small amounts of time not otherwise captured in the employer’s timekeeping system. However, Mersol notes, time studies may still be helpful to all parties on a range of other issues under both federal and state law.
