The article, “Customs Bill Facilitates Trade, Strengthens Enforcement, is an examination of the most impactful provisions of the recently signed Trade Facilitation and Trade Enforcement Act of 2015. Caligur and Holder conclude:

The Trade Facilitation and Trade Enforcement Act contains sweeping reforms that significantly alters the regulatory landscape in which importers and exporters operate. It is imperative that the trade community understand these reforms and keep abreast of the sea of U.S. government regulations that will be promulgated to implement the act’s mandates in order to take full advantage of the opportunities for enhanced trade contained in the act while minimizing the risks associated with trade enforcement.
