Partner Matthew Thurlow authored an article published Dec. 27, 2018, in Trends, the bimonthly newsletter published by the American Bar Association Section of Environment, Energy and Resources. The article, “Fear and Loathing of PFAS,” discusses the regulation of per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS). Thurlow notes that there is little consensus regarding what risks PFAS present to human health and concludes that “the final regulatory decisions for addressing PFAS in drinking water, groundwater, and soil should be based on a transparent process, public participation and debate, and the best available science and reasonable risk assessments.”
