Webinar Series: Washington's Response to COVID-19: Senator Chris Van Hollen, D-Md.

Events / Thursday, April 16, 2020
2:30 – 3:30 p.m. EDT

Please join former Congressman Mike Ferguson, leader of BakerHostetler’s Federal Policy team, and former Congressman Heath Shuler, Senior Advisor for the Federal Policy team, as we continue our bipartisan webinar series with members of both chambers of Congress.

Congress has approved three broad measures to respond to the COVID-19 pandemic, including the $2 trillion CARES Act. Work is already underway on additional legislation, as Vice President Mike Pence’s task force continues its daily updates to the public.

How is implementation of the CARES bill progressing? Will the next response simply expand on what lawmakers have already done, or will Congress go big? We’ll continue to ask these questions – and your own questions – over the weeks ahead.

We’re excited to continue this special series with Democratic and Republican members of the House and Senate.

On Thursday, April 16, please join us to hear from Senator Chris Van Hollen, D-Md. Senator Van Hollen was elected to represent Maryland in the Senate in 2016. He serves on the Senate Appropriations Committee and Budget Committee, as well as the Environment and Public Works Committee, and the Banking, Housing, and Urban Affairs Committee, where he is Ranking Member of the Securities, Insurance, and Investment Subcommittee. Prior to his election to the Senate, he served seven terms in the House after serving in both chambers of the Maryland General Assembly.
