Webinar Series: Washington's Response to COVID-19: Senator Ted Cruz, R-Texas

Events / Wednesday, May 6, 2020
11:30 a.m. – 12:30 p.m. EDT

Please join former Congressman Mike Ferguson, leader of BakerHostetler’s Federal Policy team, and former Congressman Heath Shuler, Senior Advisor for the Federal Policy team, as we continue our bipartisan webinar series with members of both chambers of Congress.

We have heard from a broad range of Republicans and Democrats from the House and Senate. We’ve discussed the congressional response to the pandemic so far, how it is affecting the lawmakers’ own states and communities, and what other actions they believe are necessary.

A return to normalcy may still seem far away, but signs of hope are beginning to emerge. Congress is exploring additional measures to boost the economy as we look ahead to reopening certain segments. We hope you will join us to hear how these talks are progressing and ask your own questions of more key lawmakers.

We look forward to continuing this special series with Democratic and Republican members of the House and Senate.

On Wednesday, May 6, please join us to hear from U.S. Senator Ted Cruz, R-Texas. Cruz was elected to represent Texas in the Senate in 2012, his first elected office after serving as solicitor general of Texas. He is a member of the Senate Foreign Relations Committee, the Judiciary Committee and the Commerce, Science, and Transportation Committee, where he is chairman of the Aviation Subcommittee. Cruz and Sen. Kirsten Gillibrand, D-N.Y., recently launched a bipartisan social media challenge in which they performed acts of service for people on the front lines of the COVID-19 crisis in their communities and challenged other public officeholders and celebrities to do the same.
