Barron Avery authored an article for Bloomberg BNA "Daily Report for Executives" on December 5, 2012, entitled "Obama’s Executive Order Against Trafficking: What Contractors Need to Know." In the article, Avery discusses the Executive Order issued by the President that is designed to prohibit a wider range of activity that is related to human trafficking. It also imposes new obligations on contractors and agencies related to trafficking. In his article, Avery summarizes the existing regulations on human trafficking in government contracting, and also addresses the impact of the new Executive Order on this existing regulatory scheme. He concludes by offering practical implications for contractors to consider.
