Partner Nancy Inesta is quoted in an article published March 12, 2020, by The Wall Street Journal. The article, “Companies Walk a Fine Line on Employee Data Amid Coronavirus Outbreak,” reports on advice from attorneys that companies must be careful not to demand too much personal information from their employees because such requests could violate data-privacy and employment law in Europe and the United States.  Inesta told the publication that U.S. employment law generally restricts companies from requiring employees to take medical exams, but added that companies can order workers to disclose if they have been exposed to the virus or to work from home if there is a direct threat to the workplace.  <a href="https://www.wsj.com/articles/companies-walk-fine-line-on-employee-data-amid-coronavirus-outbreak-11583948984">Read the article (registration required)</a>.
