HEADLINES
•  Negotiations between a bipartisan group of lawmakers and the White House on a large-scale infrastructure bill enter a critical phase this week.
•  The Senate will vote on Democrats’ voting and campaign finance legislation that is <a href="https://thehill.com/homenews/senate/559351-this-week-senate-set-for-voting-rights-fight">likely to fail</a> on a procedural motion.
•  BakerHostetler’s 32nd Annual Legislative Seminar will host two important House leaders: Majority Leader Steny Hoyer, D-Md., <a href="https://www.bakerlaw.com/events/32nd-annual-legislative-seminar-series-house-majority-leader-steny-hoyer-d-md">today</a>, and Energy and Commerce Committee Republican Leader Cathy McMorris Rodgers, R-Wash., on <a href="https://www.bakerlaw.com/events/32nd-annual-legislative-seminar-series-congresswoman-cathy-mcmorris-rodgers-r-wash">Wednesday</a>.
HOUSE

<li>The House will be in session Tuesday through Friday. The <a href="https://www.majorityleader.gov/content/weekly-leader-friday-june-18-2021">agenda</a> centers on nullifying various rules from the Trump administration using the <a href="https://thehill.com/homenews/house/559223-house-to-take-big-step-on-eliminating-trump-era-rules">Congressional Review Act</a>.</li>
<li>The Natural Resources Committee will hold a <a href="https://naturalresources.house.gov/hearings/remote-fc-legislative-hearing-notice_june-22-2021">legislative hearing</a> Tuesday on ocean-based climate action.</li>
<li>Hoyer highlights the continuation of BakerHostetler’s 32nd Annual Legislative Seminar Series <a href="https://www.bakerlaw.com/events/32nd-annual-legislative-seminar-series-house-majority-leader-steny-hoyer-d-md">this afternoon</a>, followed <a href="https://www.bakerlaw.com/events/32nd-annual-legislative-seminar-series-congresswoman-cathy-mcmorris-rodgers-r-wash">Wednesday</a> by McMorris, the Energy and Commerce Committee Republican leader.</li>

<li>The Senate <a href="https://www.senate.gov/floor/index.htm">plans</a> to continue working on President Biden’s nominees and will vote on <a href="https://www.congress.gov/bill/117th-congress/senate-bill/1/all-info?r=3&s=4">election and campaign finance legislation</a>.</li>
<li>The Senate Judiciary Committee on Tuesday will hold a <a href="https://www.judiciary.senate.gov/meetings/protecting-real-innovations-by-improving-patent-quality">hearing</a> titled Protecting Real Innovations by Improving Patent Quality.</li>
<li>The Senate Commerce Communications, Media, and Broadband Subcommittee will hold a <a href="https://www.commerce.senate.gov/2021/6/building-resilient-networks">hearing</a> Tuesday on telecommunications network resiliency.</li>

WHITE HOUSE
<ul>
<li>Biden is <a href="https://www.politico.com/newsletters/huddle/2021/06/21/bipartisan-infrastructure-talks-near-do-or-die-phase-493309?nname=huddle&nid=0000014f-1646-d88f-a1cf-5f46b4be0000&nrid=00000164-8fc0-d4a7-a5fc-9fce06f00000&nlid=630309&cid=hptb_secondary_0">continuing</a> to press toward a bipartisan agreement on infrastructure.</li>
<li>Thursday he will <a href="https://www.newsobserver.com/news/politics-government/article252241648.html">travel</a> to North Carolina in an effort to promote vaccinations.</li>
<li>Friday, Biden will host Afghan President Ashraf Ghani and chairman of Afghanistan’s High Council for National Reconciliation Abdullah Abdullah for a <a href="https://www.reuters.com/world/asia-pacific/white-house-says-biden-meet-with-afghanistans-ghani-abdullah-abdullah-2021-06-20/">White House meeting</a> as violence with the Taliban escalates ahead of plans to fully withdraw American military.</li>
