Please join former Congressman Mike Ferguson, leader of BakerHostetler’s <a href="https://www.bakerlaw.com/FederalPolicy">Federal Policy</a> team, and former Congressman <a href="https://www.bakerlaw.com/HeathShuler">Heath Shuler</a>, Senior Advisor for the Federal Policy team, as we continue our bipartisan webinar series with members of both chambers of Congress.

Congress has approved three broad measures to respond to the COVID-19 pandemic, including the $2 trillion CARES Act. Work is already underway on additional legislation, as Vice President Mike Pence’s task force continues its daily updates to the public.

How is implementation of the CARES bill progressing? Will the next response simply expand on what lawmakers have already done, or will Congress go big? We’ll continue to ask these questions – and your own questions – over the weeks ahead.

On Thursday, April 9, please join us to hear from Congressman Josh Gottheimer, D-N.J. He is serving his second term representing North Jersey in the House. Bergen County, where the Congressman resides with his family, is among the areas in the United States most heavily affected by COVID-19. He serves on the House Financial Services Committee, an important assignment for his district, which is located directly across from Manhattan. Since his election, Congressman Gottheimer has emphasized bipartisanship and led efforts to work across the aisle as co-chair of the bipartisan Problem Solvers Caucus. Prior to holding office, Gottheimer was a speechwriter for President Bill Clinton; he also had a career in business at both Ford Motor Company and Microsoft.
