News / August 10, 2009

WASHINGTON, D.C. — August 10, 2009 — Baker Hostetler's International Trade Practice, led by Dr. Elliot J. Feldman has launched the "China-U.S. Trade Law" blog which will feature developments in U.S. international trade law, with a focus on issues of particular concern to Chinese producers, exporters and government officials.

"China is on a development path to become the world's leading importer as well as the leading exporter of manufactured goods. The world's leading market today is the United States, which also is the world's leading exporter by value," said Dr. Feldman. "In the twenty-first century, no trade relationship will be more important than between China and the United States. This blog will provide essential information about active trade disputes between China and the United States," Dr. Feldman said.

In addition to tracking active cases, the site, which contains content in both English and Chinese, will also provide insightful commentary on the China-U.S. trade relationship and on international trade more generally, according to the blog's Managing Editor, Washington, D.C., partner John Burke. "We expect our blog will become a crucial information resource for the Chinese business owners, chief executives and other officers in Chinese companies that are significant exporters to the United States, as well as government officials, legal professionals and trade consultants,” Burke said.
