Partner Alan Friel is quoted in an article published March 27, 2020, by Law360, which was also quoted by eDiscovery Daily Blog. The article, “COVID-19 Fuels Heated Fight Over CCPA Enforcement Timing,” discusses mounting pressure from companies to delay enforcement of the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA), because of the ongoing coronavirus pandemic.

“Companies understandably need to focus now almost singularly on the health and safety of their employees and consumers and on business continuity,” Friel told Law360. BakerHostetler also has filed comments with the California attorney general arguing for the planned July 1 enforcement deadline to be extended by six months.
