Anat Maytal Recognized Among 2016 On the Rise – Top 40 Young Lawyers by American Bar Association

Nominated by her peers, Associate Anat Maytal was named by the American Bar Association (ABA) Young Lawyers Division (YLD) as an On the Rise – Top 40 Young Lawyer. In the inaugural year of this award, the organization received thousands of nominations for this prestigious award. The ABA describes the recognition as “an amazing accomplishment and a testament to [the honorees’] superb reputation as an outstanding lawyer and servant to the public.” The honorees are recognized in the print edition of the August ABA Journal, the Summer 2016 print edition of the YLD’s “The Young Lawyer” and online.

Maytal focuses her practice on complex commercial litigation and employment law. She is currently involved in representing Irving H. Picard, Securities Investor Protection Act Trustee for the liquidation of Bernard L. Madoff Investment Securities LLC (BLMIS), in connection with the Madoff Ponzi scheme. She has been involved in extensive motion practice in a variety of litigation matters related to the liquidation, seeking to recover assets for the benefit of defrauded BLMIS customers. Maytal has assisted in representing employers in business competition litigation matters and discrimination actions, as well as corporations and commercial lenders in contractual disputes involving former shareholders and borrowers, respectively. She also is President of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing Bar Association, which generated global media coverage for the historic admission of its members to the U.S. Supreme Court and for securing the use of technology to assist in hearing two cases argued before the Court. Maytal graduated cum laude from Harvard University and obtained her law degree with honors from Boston University School of Law.
