Andrew Grossman Comments on Potential for Class Action Reform

News / April 7, 2017

Partner Andrew Grossman is quoted in an article published April 5, 2017, by Bloomberg BNA. The article, “Senate Prospects for Class Action Bill Still Murky,” discusses a bill that would overhaul class action procedures. The bill has been passed by the U.S. House of Representatives but awaits action in the Senate. The story notes that Grossman – who frequently defends clients in class actions – addressed about the bill’s prospects at a Federalist Society Forum at which he said, “When you talk to people in the trenches, you recognize a lot of pathologies in the system and broken incentives. The bill is a pretty sensible way to change those incentives.”

He added, “There are areas in the bill for compromise at the margins, but there are also lots of good provisions.”
