BakerHostetler was honored with Global M&A Network’s Energy Restructuring of the Year Award for its work on the Limetree Bay Services Chapter 11 sale of assets. The 14th Annual Turnaround Atlas Awards ceremony was held virtually on July 21, 2022.
The Environmental Protection Agency shut down the Limetree Bay Refinery on St. Croix, U.S. Virgin Islands, in June 2021, following what regulators referred to as multiple air emissions incidents. In December 2021, a U.S. bankruptcy judge approved the $62 million sale of the refinery, and the bankruptcy plan was approved in May 2022.
Led by Partners Elizabeth Green (Orlando) and Jorian Rose (New York), BakerHostetler’s Limetree Bay team included Partners Jimmy Parrish (Orlando), David Richardson (Los Angeles), Mark DeLaquil (Washington, D.C.) and Christopher Carolan (New York); Counsel Michael Delaney (Cleveland) and Allison Jones (Houston); and Associates Scott Prince (Cleveland) and Danielle Merola (Orlando).
