Partner Bruce Sanford served as co-chair for the 35th Anniversary Awards Dinner of the International Center for Journalists (ICFJ), held in Washington, D.C., on Nov. 7, 2019. The event raised $1.2 million for the organization’s work: teaching journalists in 180 countries how to do their craft. CNN’s Wolf Blitzer served as master of ceremonies for the dinner, which honored Marty Baron, executive editor of The Washington Post, CBS News Senior Correspondent Elizabeth Palmer, and two intrepid journalists from Kenya and Serbia. Blitzer’s introduction of Sanford noted that BakerHostetler has been representing the news media for more than 100 years and that Sanford has been one of the nation’s leading First Amendment lawyers for 50 of those years. Sanford’s co-chair was Pamela Howard, vice chair of the ICFJ.
