Carl Hittinger Comments on Possible Trump Pick to Lead FTC

News / February 28, 2017

Partner Carl Hittinger is quoted in an article published Feb. 23, 2017, in Bloomberg BNA’s “Antitrust and Trade Regulation Resource Center.” The article, “Ohlhausen Seen Auditioning to Keep Top FTC Role,” discusses Acting Federal Trade Commission (FTC) Chairwoman Maureen Ohlhausen’s high-profile comments since President Trump took office and assesses her chances of being named the agency’s chair.

Hittinger told Bloomberg that choosing another leading candidate for the post, Utah Attorney General Sean Reyes, would be one way for Trump to deliver on his promise to “drain the swamp” in Washington.  “I think Trump is looking, in many of his appointments, for people who are new and different, who will bring a fresh outlook to the position,” Hittinger said.
