News / December 6, 2016

A team of litigation attorneys from the Class Action Defense, Privacy and Data Protection, and E-Discovery Advocacy and Management teams presented “Class Action Defense Basics Training” for CLE credit to the in-house attorneys at Beazley Group in New York on Tuesday, December 6. The team, comprising Paul Karlsgodt, Casie Collignon, Karin Scholz Jenson, Ted Kobus and Dave Carney, discussed developments in the law governing standing and proof of injury, strategies for early case management and discovery, and class certification and settlement. Longtime client Beazley specializes in underwriting U.S. risks. Today, the bulk of its U.S. business continues to be underwritten in London by Lloyd's underwriters, but it also has a rapidly growing local presence in the United States. Through its A-rated admitted carrier, Beazley Insurance Company, Inc., it is also underwriting an increasing volume of business — including management liability, professional liability and property.
