Dennis Duffy Comments on Uber's Use of Investigator Who Lied to Get Information on Plaintiff

Partner Dennis Duffy is quoted in an article published Aug. 10, 2016, in Bloomberg BNA. The article, “Uber Gets Pounded for Private Eye’s Pretexting,” reports on a ruling by the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York that Uber should not have used a private investigator to look for dirt on the plaintiff and the plaintiff’s attorney in a putative antitrust class action. Duffy, the author of an ethics handbook for labor and employment lawyers, told Bloomberg, “You have to anticipate the possibility of a judge having a visceral reaction if your investigator chooses to collect information by subterfuge.”
