Elliot Feldman Awarded Law360 ‘2018 International Trade MVP'

News / December 4, 2018

Partner Elliot Feldman is profiled by Law360 as one of the publication’s “2018 International Trade MVPs.” The article highlights Feldman’s success in convincing the U.S. International Trade Commission (ITC) to drop its proposed tariffs on Canadian imports of newsprint. As lead counsel for Resolute Forest Products, the largest producer of newsprint in North America, Feldman persuaded the ITC that price increases from tariffs newspapers could not afford would shutter newspapers all across the U.S., leaving newsprint manufacturers that the tariffs were supposed to protect without customers. Senators and Congressmen testifying on Resolute’s behalf told the ITC the case presented critical sues of the First Amendment by threatening a free press.

Law360’s MVPs are attorneys who have distinguished themselves from their peers over the past year through high-stakes litigation, record-breaking deals and complex global matters. A team of Law360 editors selected the 2018 MVP winners after reviewing nearly 1,000 submissions.
