Jeff Paravano Talks with Bloomberg about Future of IRS CAP Program

Partner Jeff Paravano is quoted in an article published Aug. 26, 2016, in Bloomberg’s Daily Tax Report. The article, “IRS Won’t Admit New Companies to Popular Compliance Program,” discusses the Internal Revenue Service Compliance Assurance Process (CAP) program, which allows large corporate taxpayers to participate in real-time audits. However, the IRS has announced that it will not accept new participates for the 2017 application season and is in the process of assessing the program. Paravano told Bloomberg that the IRS news

“suggests that the IRS believes there may be better ways to allocate its time and money and also may believe that the CAP program is consuming too much of its resources.”
