John Carney, George Stamboulidis Speak on Key Topics in Government Investigations

News / October 20, 2020

Partners John Carney and George Stamboulidis will be speakers at the Government Investigations & Civil Litigation Institute (GICLI) Annual Meeting, which will be held through short weekly online sessions between Oct. 21 and Dec. 2, 2020.

On Nov. 18, Carney will moderate a panel titled “The Best Defense: Stress Testing Your Compliance and Ethics Program Before the Government Knocks.” Panelists will discuss best practices for developing thoughtful, comprehensive and effective programs, which in turn induce prosecutors and regulators to reduce penalties or even decline to bring charges against companies investigated for misconduct.

Following that program on Nov. 18, Stamboulidis will lead a discussion titled “CARES Act Fraud Enforcement Is Here – Find Out What Borrowers Need to Know to Mitigate the Risks.” This panel will cover CARES Act loan programs and how borrowers can avoid being the next target of a fraud investigation or prosecution.
