Kornfeld, Powers, Resnick Quoted Regarding Regulatory Climate for Hedge Funds

Partners Mark Kornfeld, Marc Powers and Lauren Resnick are quoted in the December 15, 2015, FundFire newsletter. The article, “SEC Aims Squarely at Cybersecurity, Disclosures,” recaps a recent BakerHostetler-sponsored panel discussion for hedge fund managers about regulatory priorities for 2016 and SEC examinations. Kornfeld noted that the SEC is continuing to support its whistleblower program that rewards and protects in-house corporate informants, saying, “They want to see good policies and procedures, a culture where people are responding to potential gaps with deficiencies in compliance.” Powers noted that the SEC is keeping close tabs on misallocation of fees and expenses and conflicts in its exams, and Resnick addressed the Financial Crimes Enforcement Network’s proposed anti-money laundering rule for investment managers.
