News / April 1, 2020

Partners Shawn Cleveland, Tamara Baggett, Ryan Gorsche and Matt Hunsaker are quoted in an article published on April 1, 2020, by Law360. The article, “BakerHostetler Opens Dallas Office, Adds SALT Team Leader,” reports on the opening of the new Dallas office.

Cleveland is the Partner-in-Charge for the Dallas office, which opened on March 25, 2020, with 16 attorneys working in M&A, tax, litigation and white-collar defense and investigations.

Hunsaker, who is leading the state and local tax team, is based in Dallas, but will also work out of the firm’s new San Francisco office. He told the publication, “I’ve been looking for an excellent tax group with a national platform, and I jumped at the opportunity to join BakerHostetler.”

Baggett, whose practice focuses on construction and real estate litigation, talked about the effect of the COVID-19 pandemic on business. “t’s very likely lots of construction projects will be delayed as a result of COVID. Over the next several months, we’ll see how courts interpret delay provisions and added cost and time issues.”

Gorsche represents clients in M&A and business transactions, told Law360 that he was impressed with the Dallas partners and the “creativity and thoughtfulness” of the firm’s management.
