Partner Marc Powers, national leader of the law firm’s Securities Litigation and Regulatory Enforcement practice, is quoted in a Securities Law360 story published Feb. 25, 2015, and headlined “7 Habits Of Highly Effective Compliance Officers.” The article discusses the tension and potential exposure compliance officers have to the extent they are viewed as supervisors or fail to do their jobs effectively. Powers is quoted as saying, “Compliance officers need to constantly evaluate the business units and their organizations’ activities, because they will shift and change over time. Any procedures and controls they put into place have to be tailored specifically for their own organization and what it does.”
