Melinda McLellan Discusses Best Practices for Compliance with EU GDPR

BakerHostetler Partner Melinda McLellan presented a webinar to members of the Risk and Compliance Practice Group of the Manufacturers Alliance for Productivity and Innovation on Sept. 26, 2017. The presentation, “Keep Calm and Prepare for the GDPR,” provided an overview of the new EU General Data Protection Regulation and discussed ways to prepare for compliance. The new requirements, which come into effect in May 2018, have global reach and will impact companies around the world. McLellan offered insights into how these changes are likely to affect manufacturers as well as best practices for compliance and steps companies should consider taking now. She also gave a recap of the recently-concluded first annual review of the EU-U.S. Privacy Shield Framework.
