Orga Cadet Moderates ABA Panel on China's Belt and Road Initiative, U.S. National Security Concerns, and U.S. Responses

Associate Orga Cadet moderated “Understanding China’s Belt and Road Initiative and U.S. Legal and Policy Efforts to Address It,” on June 18, 2020. This virtual panel was sponsored by the American Bar Association’s (ABA) International Law Section during its 2020 Virtual Annual Meeting. Cadet led the panel through a discussion on the objectives and accomplishments of China's global Belt and Road Initiative (BRI), including its Digital Silk Road component that focuses on 5G, artificial intelligence, and other strategically important advanced technologies. The panel also explored related U.S. national security concerns and recent laws, regulations, and policies aimed at limiting the BRI’s reach and potentially detrimental impacts.
