On July 22, 2022, Partner Ted Bernert is quoted in a Law360 article titled “Fracking Co. Tells Ohio Justices Its Equipment Is Exempt.” Stingray Pressure Pumping LLC asked the Ohio Supreme Court to reexamine an Ohio Board of Tax Appeals ruling that its fracking equipment is taxable under an amended statute. Bernert, counsel for Stingray, says the board used an incredibly narrow application of the exemption, adding that this gives the court its first chance to review the new statute.
