WASHINGTON – July 12, 2021 – BakerHostetler is pleased to announce that Alexander L. Reid has joined the firm as a partner in its Washington, D.C., office. Reid will be a member of the firm’s Tax Practice Group and serve as the national team leader for BakerHostetler’s Tax-Exempt Organizations and Charitable Giving team.

“I’m thrilled to join BakerHostetler’s Tax Practice Group and am looking forward to working alongside the firm’s extremely talented attorneys,” said Reid. “My practice and my clients will undoubtedly benefit from the firm’s commitment to client service and its national footprint in transactional tax matters and tax controversy matters.”

He also advises taxpayers under audit and helps organizations improve their governance and enhance their tax compliance. Among his many clients are charities, foundations, colleges and universities, museums and other nonprofit organizations.

In his role as BakerHostetler’s Tax-Exempt Organizations and Charitable Giving national team leader, he will work with numerous types of tax-exempt organizations, including colleges and universities, charities, foundations, museums and other nonprofits. Reid previously served as legislation counsel to the Joint Committee on Taxation (JCT) of the U.S. Congress and as a fellow in the Office of Tax Policy at the Treasury Department. Reid earned his J.D. and LL.M. from New York University School of Law and his B.A. from Yale University.

“Alex’s broad-based tax background representing clients in a range of industries, coupled with his experience working at the Treasury Department and the Joint Committee on Taxation on Capitol Hill, will provide invaluable insights to our clients and our national Tax Practice Group,” said Jeffrey H.
