Press Releases / June 5, 2020

Houston – June 5, 2020 – BakerHostetler announced today that Mark. D. Temple and Peter J. Stuhldreher will join its national Labor and Employment Practice Group as partners, resident in the Houston office. Prior to joining the firm, they were both partners at Reed Smith LLP, where Temple served as the leader of the global Labor and Employment practice.

“Peter and Mark are essential additions to the Labor and Employment Group as we continue to serve our clients in Texas and across the country,” said Amy Traub, chair of the Labor and Employment Practice Group. “We are excited to bring them on board, and their sophisticated resumes and relentless effort to solve employer issues will be of great value as we continue to expand our practice.”

Temple, an experienced trial lawyer who focuses his practice on high-stakes business disputes and complex employment litigation, will be joining the firm as the Labor and Employment Group Coordinator in Houston. He has worked extensively on wage and hour class actions and worker classification issues, helping clients understand compliance under the Fair Labor Standards Act and state wage and hour laws. Temple is often called upon to try complex employment cases and trade secret disputes involving departing upper management or C-suite officers and directors. He has tried high-profile cases involving business executives and in-house counsel in the areas of discrimination, harassment, retaliation and wrongful termination. He brings with him a wealth of knowledge on employment law to better resolve clients’ most complex matters.

“I’m thrilled to join BakerHostetler, a firm with a deep bench of tremendous lawyers,” said Temple. “I’m excited for the opportunity to continue building my practice with a top-notch labor and employment group that provides excellent client service and value.”

Throughout his career, Stuhldreher has had a complex labor and employment practice, litigating cases and advising employers across the country. He has significant experience litigating trade secret and restrictive covenant cases, and he also regularly defends employers in wage and hour overtime collective actions. Stuhldreher also represents employers in discrimination, harassment and retaliation lawsuits, often involving claims by and against executives. Though based in Houston, he has worked nationally, providing counsel to employers of all sizes, from Fortune 100 companies to small businesses across a variety of industries. Stuhldreher also frequently advises clients on employment law issues and provides guidance on the employment law aspects involved in corporate transactions. His experience, along with his tireless commitment to fulfilling clients’ needs, ensures that Stuhldreher provides his clients with excellent service and creative solutions that are tailored to meet their business objectives.

“BakerHostetler has an excellent group of lawyers across the country and I’m excited to join the team,” said Stuhldreher. “The firm’s strong national presence and complex employment practice is an ideal platform for continuing to deliver outstanding value, quality and service to clients.”
