CLEVELAND, Dec. 8, 2015 — BakerHostetler today announced that it was recognized for the second year in a row as a top law firm for client service on The 2016 BTI Client Service 30 list compiled by BTI Consulting Group Inc. of Wellesley, Mass. Of the 650 core law firms that serve the Fortune 1000, approximately half of those firms were recognized by BTI for delivering superior service. BakerHostetler earned the No. 9 spot out of those 322 firms identified. For the first time, BakerHostetler broke into the top 10, impressively advancing 19 places on the list. The firm made its debut on the Client Service 30 in 2015 at No. 28, a jump of five spots from 2014, making it one of the fastest rising firms in the Client Service 30.
BakerHostetler’s best-in-class performance in key areas drove the firm’s significant achievement this year. BTI identified the firm as “best of the best” in four categories: Commitment to Help Clients, Providing Value for the Dollar, Helps Advise on Business Issues, and Unprompted Communication. BTI noted the firm’s second appearance on the “exclusive” list is due to its “commitment to help and business advisory skills combined with best-in-class value.” Clients quoted in the survey value BakerHostetler for the firm’s ability to “match the attorney with the need really well” and for attorneys who “understand our key goals so they require less oversight.”
“Our BTI ranking reflects the firm’s cultural approach to client service, placing our clients at the core of our business. Our attorneys provide superior service—whether they offer advice, provide resources, or even work to secure the latest technology to tackle a complex discovery—they anticipate a client’s needs ahead of time and respond quickly,” said Steven Kestner, Chairman of BakerHostetler.
“We work hard to address the legal issues that impact our clients so they can be effective and meet their objectives. Our clients see us as trusted advisors and partners who know their businesses and care about their success - we are in it together with our clients,” said Lauren Resnick, BakerHostetler’s Business Development Partner.
“Corporate counsel note BakerHostetler’s increasing client service performance driving the firm to be ranked No. 9, up from No. 28 last year,” said Michael B. Rynowecer, President of the BTI Consulting Group, who directs the survey. “Top legal decision makers report BakerHostetler delivers leadership levels of client focus and best-in-class value,” Rynowecer added.
Described by BTI as “the gold standard (used by law firms and corporate counsel alike) to assess how law firms honestly stack up in client service delivery,” this list is part of a larger client survey, “The BTI Client Service A-Team 2016: Survey of Law Firm Client Service Performance.” BTI uses an independent survey to reach more than 4,000 corporate counsel, 250 major law firm leadership partners, and more than 200 top business executives of Fortune 1000 and large companies. The results are based on 17 “objective ranking factors” BTI has identified as important in building client and firm relationships. In-depth interviews revealed that BakerHostetler’s client service outpaces many of the nation’s other leading law firms.
