Press Releases / March 8, 2018

COLUMBUS, — March 8, 2018 — BakerHostetler today announced that it has named Gary Wadman as its next Columbus Office Managing Partner, succeeding Ron Linville, effective January 1, 2019.

“Ron has been a tremendous leader for BakerHostetler in Columbus and I appreciate the thoughtfulness he brought to our office management leadership team,” said Chairman Steve Kestner. “We have been in Columbus since 1979 and Ron worked tirelessly to support our attorneys and clients in the market and across the country. I am pleased that we will have a similarly insightful leader in Gary succeeding him, and I believe Gary’s experience in firm management and many years of advising significant business clients make him well-qualified to build on the success of the Columbus office.”

Wadman joined BakerHostetler in 1985, was elected Partner in 1993, and after serving in other firm management positions, has served on the firm’s Policy Committee, its governing board, since 2013. His practice has an emphasis on the healthcare industry, and he brings extensive experience in mergers and acquisitions involving public and privately held companies and advising boards of directors, board committees and company management regarding corporate governance, business strategy and other matters. Wadman received his B.S. from Ball State University, 1978, summa cum laude, and his J.D. from Indiana University School of Law, 1985, cum laude, and has worked at BakerHostetler his entire legal career.

“I am honored to have been selected for this important role,” said Wadman. “Ron set a high bar for successful leadership in the Columbus office, and I look forward to working with the tremendous lawyers and staff in the office as we continue to deliver the outstanding service and value to our clients for which BakerHostetler is known.”

Linville joined BakerHostetler in 1984 and became Office Managing Partner in 2013, after having served 10 years as Chair of the firm’s Employment and Labor Group. As a management-side labor and employment attorney, Ron developed one of the largest public-sector practices in Ohio and earned the trust and respect of clients and colleagues for his thoughtful approach to solving client matters. He brought that same approach to leading the Columbus office, and further expanded its broad support of civic engagement activity.

“I am grateful to have had the honor of leading this fantastic office and am proud of what we have accomplished in Columbus and in support of the firm,” said Linville. “I know that the office will be in very good hands with Gary as its Office Managing Partner.”
