Why this matters
As a former six-term member of Congress holding multiple leadership positions, Roskam is well qualified to lead BakerHostetler’s highly regarded Federal Policy team, which provides clients with government affairs advocacy and lobbying services. The team helps clients assess their legislative and regulatory risks, leverage opportunities, and identify potential legislative champions. The Federal Policy team also represents clients in congressional oversight investigations.
The Federal Policy team has been recognized by Bloomberg Government as a top-performing lobbying group for multiple years. The New York Times called the team a “lobbying giant,” and Politico said the firm was a “law and lobbying powerhouse.”
Roskam succeeds former Rep. Mike Ferguson, who led the Federal Policy team from 2016 to 2022. BakerHostetler has a long history of former lawmakers leading its legislative practice group, including former Rep. Mike Oxley, the former chairman of the House Financial Services Committee.
Roskam joins BakerHostetler from another AmLaw 100 firm, where he provided strategic counsel and guidance to clients on law, government, media and public policy.
