Life Sciences-Focused IP Partner Joins BakerHostetler in Washington

Toni-Junell Herbert and her team advise clients through every stage of IP development, including auditing, due diligence and litigation

WASHINGTON, D.C. — April 29, 2019 — BakerHostetler announced today that Toni-Junell Herbert has joined the firm as a partner in its Intellectual Property Group, resident in its Washington, D.C., office. Herbert was most recently a partner at Dinsmore & Shohl LLP.

She joins the firm with a team consisting of a counsel and a patent agent with whom she has worked for years on a wide variety of IP matters. With a focus on chemical and life sciences clients, Herbert and her team cover the full gamut of IP work, from identifying patentable inventions and developing IP protection strategies to defending her clients’ most important assets in court.

Herbert also handles IP auditing, due diligence and other transactional matters for corporations as well as investment banking entities and venture capital groups. Keeping an eye toward her clients’ overall business objectives, Herbert has acted as a virtual general counsel for companies of all sizes through every stage of IP development.

Herbert received her B.A. from the University of Colorado and her J.D. from the University of Baltimore School of Law. Additionally, she worked as a biochemistry researcher for six years at Harvard University and Massachusetts General Hospital.
