The firm was selected to help unravel the largest and most complex fraud case in the nation’s history based on our diverse experience in the fields of corporate finance, complex business litigation, white collar criminal investigation and bankruptcy law. Our team includes the Trustee overseeing liquidation of the brokerage house—as well as related investigations and litigation—and the firm serves as Trustee’s counsel. Sheehan Our Washington office is home to former Chairman of the House Financial Services Committee, Michael G. Oxley. Mr. Oxley joined the firm after a 25-year career in the U.S. House of Representatives. He is best known as the co-author of the landmark Sarbanes-Oxley Act of 2002, which restored confidence in the capital markets and in the financial reporting of public companies.
Federal agencies increasingly appoint independent monitors and examiners to review and report on a company’s potential violations. The end result: A $2.3 billion merger with Triarc that creates the nation’s third-largest quick-service restaurant company, with 10,000 restaurants and more than $12 billion in annual sales.
