We represent many of America’s most dynamic organizations. These institutions are household names and have a presence in most major markets. In many cases, their influence is felt around the world.
Our Washington office is home to former Chairman of the House Financial Services Committee, Michael G. Oxley. Mr. Oxley joined the firm after a 25-year career in the U.S. House of Representatives. He is best known as the co-author of the landmark Sarbanes-Oxley Act of 2002, which restored confidence in the capital markets and in the financial reporting of public companies.
Federal agencies increasingly appoint independent monitors and examiners to review and report on a company’s potential violations. Recognizing Baker Hostetler’s experience handling corporate investigations, the DOJ has appointed our firm as a monitor and examiner numerous times. This experience benefits our work on behalf of other companies that find themselves the target of government scrutiny and white collar and securities litigation.
Whether it's pitching a shutout or playing a 162-game season, baseball is a game of endurance. The institution itself has expanded, evolved and endured as America's #1 pastime for over 150 years. During that time, Baker Hostetler's strong relationship with Major League Baseball has endured as well.
The Special Committee of the Wendy’s International, Inc., Board turned to Baker Hostetler for guidance in developing and evaluating viable strategic alternatives. The end result: A $2.3 billion merger with Triarc that creates the nation’s third-largest quick-service restaurant company, with 10,000 restaurants and more than $12 billion in annual sales.
