Albert T. Adams
Albert T. Adams practices in the business and corporate areas with special emphasis on the structuring and financial aspects of business transactions. Mr. Adams has participated as counsel in numerous significant transactions, including international project financings, mergers, acquisitions and initial public offerings.
Mr. Adams has acted as lead lawyer in connection with various credit arrangements involving in excess of $75 billion, including the first “pass-through” grantor trust formed in the United States to finance subsidized housing. Mr. Adams has also served as lead counsel in connection with various project financings involving in excess of $700 million.
Most recently, Mr. Adams has served as the engagement partner in connection with initial public offerings aggregating in excess of $800 million. In particular, he has been the lead counsel for five real estate investment trusts in their initial public offerings of common stock. In the past several years, Mr. Adams has also acted as lead counsel in connection with the public offerings of over $5 billion of various securities and has supervised the acquisition (through direct purchase, exchange of assets or merger) of in excess of $10 billion of stock and assets.
Mr. Adams is a director of three publicly held companies. He currently serves as the Chairman of the firm's Cleveland office and as a member of the firm's Policy Committee, which is the governing body of Baker Hostetler.
Mr. Adams is a member of the American, Ohio and Cleveland Metropolitan Bar Associations and a member of the Committee on Developments in Business Financing of the American Bar Association Business Law Section. He is also a trustee or director of several charitable and civic organizations.
