Amy Vanderwal focuses her practice in the areas of corporate and financial restructuring, insolvency, bankruptcy and debtors’ and creditors’ rights. Ms. Vanderwal has represented business debtors, debtor-in-possession lenders, secured and unsecured creditors, creditors’ committees and trustees in bankruptcies, and has experience with bankruptcy sale transactions, lease issues, preference and fraudulent conveyance avoidance actions and claims administration and objections. Ms. Vanderwal has practiced in both Canada and the U.S. She has also dedicated pro bono hours to advising individual consumer debtors regarding the bankruptcy process.

Ms. Vanderwal also has experience representing commercial lenders providing asset-based loans, senior, mezzanine and second lien financings.
Ms. Vanderwal is a member of the New York State and New York City Bar Associations, the American Bankruptcy Institute and the Turnaround Management Association. She is also an adjunct professor of legal writing at Brooklyn Law School.
