Lee Casey performs appellate work for clients, while also maintaining a practice in the areas of administrative law, compliance counseling, and foreign-related litigation. He works with companies to ensure compliance with federal and international regulations and agencies and develops the best strategies to avoid or fight litigation. With a thorough understanding of his clients' industries and business positions, Lee helps create compliance and litigation strategies that achieve client objectives as efficiently as possible.

  • Represents corporation on ongoing basis regarding administrative concerns related to Clean Air Act. Attends agency meetings and analyzes EPA regulations applicable to client and operations. Protects client's interests during administrative process, including instances where governmental agencies and client have conflicting agendas.
  • Represented 26 states challenging constitutionality of Medicaid revisions under the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act and arguing that an "individual mandate" was beyond powers granted to Congress under the Commerce Clause and the Necessary and Proper Clause. The United States District Court for the Northern District of Florida ruled in favor of states at the case outset. Government appealed case to the Eleventh Circuit, where original decision was affirmed.
