Mark Hatcher

Mark Hatcher advises public and private entities in connection with business formation, corporate governance, mergers and acquisitions, financing and federal and state transactional tax matters. Mr. Hatcher also has experience in the area of health law, assisting insurance companies, managed care organizations, hospitals and physician groups with a wide variety of transactions and regulatory matters related to Medicaid and Medicare compliance. His transactional experience includes advising for-profit and tax-exempt healthcare organizations with issues related to asset acquisitions, mergers and joint ventures, equity and debt financings, employment, non-competition and confidentiality agreements and other matters related to the governance of professional corporations and professional limited liability companies. In addition to his corporate practice, Mr. Hatcher has experience assisting tax-exempt organizations with matters related to nonprofit governance, compliance with tax regulations, charitable giving and endowments and he is responsible for handling a variety of real estate acquisition, disposition, development, lending and commercial leasing transactions.

During law school, Mr. Hatcher served as the Business Editor of the Capital University Law Review. He also worked as a judicial extern for the Honorable Algenon L. Marbley in the United States District Court for the Southern District of Ohio and as a law clerk for the Ohio Supreme Court Office of Disciplinary Counsel.

Mr. Hatcher has served on the boards of several charitable organizations and currently serves as a member of the Columbus Community Clinical Oncology Program Institutional Review Board, the Board of Trustees of the South Central Ohio Minority Supplier Development Council (formerly SCOMBC) and the Board of Directors of Isabelle Ridgway Care Center, Inc. He also serves on the Loan Review Committee for Community Capital Development Corporation and as Vice-President of the John Mercer Langston Bar Association. Mr. Hatcher was recognized by Columbus Business First as one of Columbus’ “Forty Under 40” for his professional accomplishments and his community involvement and he was listed in the Who’s Who in Black Columbus publication in 2008 and in 2009. Mr. Hatcher serves as a member of the Supreme Court of Ohio’s Commission on Continuing Legal Education.

Mr. Hatcher is a member of the Business Law Section of the American Bar Association, the American Health Lawyers Association and the Ohio and Columbus Bar Associations.
