Ruth Hartman, a member of the firm’s Litigation Group, focuses her practice in the area of complex commercial law. In that capacity, she has experience in all phases of trial and appellate advocacy before state and federal courts, as well as in the arbitration and mediation of disputes. She has argued before the Sixth Circuit and has first- and second-chaired cases in both state and federal courts. Most recently, she was involved on a team that defeated a class certification for a FORTUNE 500 company, which was affirmed by the Ohio Supreme Court.
In connection with the firm’s appointment as counsel to the SIPA Trustee in the liquidation of Bernard L. Madoff Investment Securities, LLC, Ms. Hartman’s efforts are concentrated on the trustee’s investigation and recovery of assets.
Ms. Hartman is a member of the board of directors of the Old School Education Center, and is a member of the Ohio and Cleveland Metropolitan Bar Associations.
