Shawn Hough focuses his practice on complex commercial litigation and bankruptcy. He is currently working on a variety of investigatory and litigation matters in connection with BakerHostetler’s role as court-appointed counsel to the Securities Investor Protection Act (SIPA) Trustee for the liquidation of Bernard L. Madoff Investment Securities LLC. Shawn also has experience defending financial institutions with respect to residential lending practices and mortgage related litigation. In addition, he is a contributor to BakerHostetler’s Class Action Lawsuit Defense blog, providing news and commentary on recent class actions, trends and issues of interest.
Prior to joining BakerHostetler, Shawn worked at a Long Island based firm where his primary matters included real estate and bankruptcy related litigation.
While attending law school, Shawn served as a legal intern for the Town of Brookhaven Law Department where he aided in the prosecution of various violations of the town code. He also served as the Business Editor of the Hofstra Law Review and was the recipient of the Hofstra faculty property law courses award.
