Overview

Ewa Champagne is a Counsel engaged to guide clients on issues related to corporate governance and contract negotiations. She incorporates her experience as a tax consultant to develop an understanding of the client’s business goals and works closely with the legal and business teams to provide practical and cost-effective advice. Ewa is instrumental in developing cutting-edge, technology-based solutions for clients, keeping up with - and transcending - current trends and practices of many other firms. She also leads the charge for handling clients’ compliance matters, including AML and KYC, analyzing the risk profile of clients’ counterparties and co-investors.

Ewa leads the General Counsel Services team that is dedicated to offering systemic support with complex contract negotiation and corporate governance matters to public and private companies. She has extensive experience working closely with private equity clients, specifically the negotiation of diligence agreements related to M&A transactions.

  • Reviewed, negotiated, and revised commercial building leases, including commercial ground lease agreements for properties worth over $120,000 per year.
  • Revised construction contracts for commercial and residential construction and remodeling projects.
  • Managed foreclosure purchase project including thorough research of property value and history and attended the courthouse steps auction with authority to bid.
