Overview

Janis Penman is a corporate lawyer with significant experience in the area of mergers and acquisitions. She has served as lead counsel in a large number of corporate transactions in diverse business sectors, including the representation of media, manufacturing, real estate and service companies. She also has particular experience representing clients in the healthcare, life sciences and pharmaceutical industries. Janis handles all aspects of a transaction, from inception to consummation, studying the business environments of her clients to determine both the risks of and the precautions that must be taken during a deal, and negotiating transactions to best address her clients' individual needs. In addition to her experience representing clients in mergers and acquisitions transactions, Janis has advised public companies with respect to state and federal securities matters.

Janis is the hiring partner in BakerHostetler's Washington, D.C., office and is a member of the firmwide Women's Committee.
