Mathew’s practice spans state and federal courts, from initial case evaluation to trial preparation and appeal. He has experience with briefing dispositive motions, conducting and defending fact and expert witness depositions, managing large-scale e-discovery projects, drafting appellate briefs&nbsp;and overseeing class settlements.

<li>Secured final approval of class settlement in a labor depreciation case and assisted in overseeing the class settlement process. Fox v. Am. Fam. Ins. Co., Case No. 1:20-cv-01991 (N.D. Ohio Jan. 12, 2023).</li>
<li>Obtained summary judgment in alleged class action challenging auto insurer’s valuation methodology for total loss vehicle claims. Fortson v. Garrison Prop. &amp; Cas. Co., 2022 U.S. Dist. LEXIS 15478 (M.D.N.C. Jan. 21, 2022).</li>
<li>Obtained dismissal of insured’s complaint based on non-compliance with appraisal provision in policy. Mack v. USAA Cas. Ins. Co., Case No. CACE19008703 (17th Judicial Circuit, Florida Feb. 08, 2022).</li>
<li>Achieved a voluntary dismissal of a putative class action challenging an insurer’s methodology for valuing motor vehicle claims after securing an order compelling compliance with an insurance policy’s appraisal provision. Philips v. Garrison Prop. &amp; Cas. Co., Case No. 2:19-cv-01727 (N.D. Ala. July 24, 2020).</li>
<li>Represented multiple automobile insurance companies in putative class actions challenging the valuation methodology of total loss vehicle claims.</li>
<li>Represented multiple automobile insurance companies in putative class actions challenging whether regulatory fees are owed as part of a total loss payment.</li>
<li>Assisted client in obtaining Ohio Real Mortgage Lending Act license.</li>
