<li>Representation of a Philippine gaming company in its defense against the enforcement of an arbitration award before the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York, the Singapore High Court and the Singapore Court of Appeals. Representation defeated the award creditor&#8217;s attempt to seize the client&#8217;s private plane owned through an affiliated holding company.</li>
<li>Representation of Mongolia before the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit in an action confirming an arbitral award that dismissed expropriation claims of Chinese investors against Mongolia under the Mongolia-China BIT. The U.S. Supreme Court denied the investor&#8217;s petition for a writ of <em>certiorari</em>.</li>
<li>Representation of a Philippine private consortium in a Singapore-seated PCA arbitration filed against the Philippine government related to the construction and implementation of a metro line in Manila under the Philippines BLT Law (UNCITRAL Rules applied, Philippine substantive law applicable).</li>
<li>Representation of a Singaporean fintech company in a Hong Kong-seated arbitration related to the sale of trade finance funds by a South Korean hedge fund in the Cayman Islands pursuant to Hong Kong governed promissory notes (HKIAC Rules applied, Hong Kong substantive law applicable).</li>
<li>Representation of the official Unsecured Creditors&#8217; Committee in the Sanchez Energy Chapter 11 Bankruptcy Proceedings before the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the Southern District of Texas, leading the committee&#8217;s investigation and prosecution of avoidance actions against unperfected security interests asserted over oil and gas leases valued at more than $500 million. In post-confirmation hearings, the Bankruptcy Court upheld the Committees&#8217; avoidance and preferential transfer claims.</li>
<li>Representation of secured creditors in the Chapter 11 bankruptcy proceedings of True Religion, Inc. before the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for Delaware.</li>
<li>Representation of Avianca Airlines as debtors&#8217; counsel in the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the Southern District of New York in its successful Chapter 11 reorganization. Representation prosecuted motions to reject certain multimillion-dollar executory contracts related to the airline&#8217;s securitization in the Cayman Islands of its credit card receivables.</li>
