In 2019, BakerHostetler hosted our 30th annual Legislative Seminar, widely considered Washington’s premier annual showcase on legislative policy. COVID-19 forced its cancellation in 2020.
 
We are back in 2021 – but with a twist. Rather than a one-day, in-person event in Washington, this year’s Legislative Seminar will be a series of virtual discussions with members of Congress scheduled over the coming weeks this spring and summer. You will hear firsthand from Democrats and Republicans, House members and senators, on the latest legislative developments on tax, infrastructure, healthcare, trade, energy policy and more. You also will be able to submit questions.

Congressman James Clyburn serves as Majority Whip, the third-ranking Democrat in the House. Since his first election in 1993, he has served in Democratic leadership roles for most of his congressional career, including as a former chairman of the Congressional Black Caucus. Congressman Clyburn is a close ally of President Joe Biden – his support in the 2020 South Carolina Democratic primary is widely credited for delivering President Biden’s first primary victory and powering the ensuing campaign momentum that gave him the nomination.
