Partner Steven Goldberg led a large team that advised Toronto Stock Exchange-listed financial services company ECN Capital in its take-private acquisition by an investor group led by global growth investor Warburg Pincus. The resulting all-cash transaction provides certainty of value for shareholders and will result in an attractive total shareholder return of over 200% since ECN Capital’s split from New York-based Element Financial Group in October 2016. CIBC Capital Markets served as exclusive financial advisor to ECN. The transaction received extensive coverage, including articles in Law360 and The Deal.
