Joseph P. Yonadi Jr. has rejoined BakerHostetler’s Cleveland office as a partner in the firm’s <a href="https://www.bakerlaw.com/services/tax/">Tax Practice Group</a> and as a member of the <a href="https://www.bakerlaw.com/services/employee-benefits-and-executive-compensation/">Employee Benefits and Executive Compensation</a> team.

Yonadi has more than 20 years of experience advising on the design, implementation, administration, fiduciary issues, communication and termination of all types of qualified and nonqualified employee benefit and executive compensation plans.

He also excels at counseling trustees, lenders and selling shareholders in transactions involving the formation of employee stock ownership plans and the related compliance and fiduciary and governance issues arising under such transactions.

Yonadi’s versatility in working with clients of all sizes, including publicly traded companies within and outside the U.S., privately held companies and nonprofit entities, further strengthens BakerHostetler’s Tax Practice Group and Employee Benefits and Executive Compensation team, both of which are among the nation’s largest and strongest.

Yonadi’s sophisticated employee benefits and executive compensation practice focuses on assisting publicly traded companies, privately held S corporations, limited liability companies and partnerships, and large nonprofit organizations with all aspects of qualified and nonqualified compensation plans, long-term incentive plans, stock option plans, employee stock purchase plans, phantom equity plans and alternative equity structures. He also advises U.S. and multinational corporations on the legal and tax implications of granting equity in jurisdictions around the world. In addition, Yonadi has hands-on experience advising fiduciary and administrative retirement plan committees as they navigate the complexities arising under ERISA and the Internal Revenue Code.

Clients turn to Yonadi to represent them in ESOP transactions and to provide counsel with respect to assessing the benefits of utilizing an ESOP as a succession planning tool.

Yonadi received his J.D. and LL.M. with honors from the University of Illinois-Chicago.
