BakerHostetler has been awarded Meta’s top outside counsel diversity honor for the second year in a row, coming in first of 44 law firms based on Meta’s 2023 Outside Counsel Diversity Survey. The company has also recognized BakerHostetler for exceeding Meta’s billing guidelines, which require that its matters are staffed with at least 50% diverse timekeepers.

In determining which law firm to recognize as its diversity champion each year, Meta looks at multiple factors: the diversity of teams that work on Meta matters, the diversity of relationship partners, the leadership and high-value opportunities afforded to diverse attorneys working on Meta matters, diversity initiatives, and the diversity makeup of a firm’s incoming partner class.

“This recognition showcases our efforts to prioritize inclusion and diversity within our own ranks and in the legal profession more broadly. I am proud of the initiatives and programs we have developed to provide greater opportunities for women and diverse attorneys to succeed and advance within our firm. Key BakerHostetler diversity initiatives include a year-long professional development program for diverse associates that offers leadership opportunities, visibility, and a clear path to partnership; our diversity council and multiple affinity groups, which provide strategic direction and guidance on inclusion and diversity efforts across the firm, including with respect to the recruitment, retention, and advancement of diverse attorneys; and a broad range of pro bono efforts on behalf of LGBTQ+ individuals and organizations, sexual assault and domestic violence survivors, and veterans, among others.
