BakerHostetler’s Columbus office proudly joined client Columbus Metropolitan Housing Authority (CMHA) in co-hosting “Art Talk: Conversations with Artists,” a celebration of Black History Month that convened colleagues, clients and the community for an inspiring afternoon of storytelling, art and culture. The event, held Feb. 25, 2026, at CMHA’s headquarters in the historic Linden neighborhood, complemented the firm’s broader recognition of “Black History in Law” throughout February, and reflected an ongoing commitment to civic engagement and celebrating creative talent in Central Ohio.&nbsp;

The event opened with welcoming remarks by CMHA CEO Charles Hillman and Columbus Office Managing Partner <strong>Mark Hatcher</strong>. Attendees enjoyed a gallery-style setting that showcased the distinct visual styles and perspectives of three innovative Columbus-area artists.

LaShae Boyd’s contemporary, mixed-media pieces enlisted acrylic, oil, collage and sculptural elements to display figurative forms with emotional and psychological depth. Diamond Young’s oil paintings leaned on color and setting to convey personal history, memory and identity. Lastly, Jordan “JBurt” Burton embraced a passion for realism, abstract and Cubist, exhibiting digital media and paintings that focused on gesture, figures and emotion.

The compelling works were joined by a welcoming ambience, courtesy of refreshments, light appetizers and live music from James Gaiters of the jazz ensemble MUV-MENT. The result? A laidback vibe that set the stage for conversation and connection.
